Founded in 2012 by a group of Claire LIlienthal parents, SFKIEA was created in a response to inadequate funding and the vision to expand the Korean Immersion Program into middle school. With the middle school funding secured, largely by SFUSD, SFKIEA today works in partnership with KIP teachers, parents, CL administrators and members of the greater Korean community. In collaboration with these partners and the CL PTA and SSC, SFKIEA facilitates the celebration of Korean culture and supports Korean instruction for all Claire Lilienthal students.
